GM 55351702 / Siemens 5WK9 1720 – who this ECU is for
This module suits an Opel owner with the 1.8 16V Z18XE engine who needs to replace a first-generation Siemens engine ECU. We supply the original, later GM version: its housing design was changed and it does not carry the faults of the earlier model. The memory has been wiped to Virgin state.

How the replacement works
- Unbolt the old ECU from its 3 screws and unplug connectors M and R.
- Fit the new module in the same place – despite the different housing it fits without modifications.
- Plug the connectors back in and run the Tech-2 or OP-COM adaptation with your Opel’s PIN code (Car Pass).
Instead of adaptation, you can have us transfer the data from your old ECU – cloning is included in the price.
Common questions about the Siemens 5WK9 1720
Can I start the engine without the PIN code?
Adaptation needs your car’s Car Pass code. If you do not have it, cloning the data from your old ECU, which we do at no extra cost, may be the solution.

How is the new housing different?
It has a different shape and ribbing, but it uses the same 3 mounting points, so fitting it needs no changes to the car.
