Land Rover engine ECUs in stock

We currently offer the Bosch 0281010300 DDE 7788053 ECU – Freelander 2.0 TD4 IMMO OFF. It is a used unit, tested before dispatch, for the first-generation Freelander (L314) with the 2.0 TD4 diesel engine, in 3- and 5-door versions.

Freelander 2.0 TD4 – an ECU of BMW origin

The 2.0 TD4 engine in the first Freelander is a BMW diesel unit. That is why the ECU carries a Bosch number, a BMW system number (DDE 7788053) and a Land Rover reference (NNN100720). Compare all three with your label. Despite the shared origin, do not swap it for a BMW unit without checking the full number – the software is different.

How to choose the right ECU

  • the Bosch number on the label (e.g. 0 281 010 300),
  • the DDE / BMW number and the Land Rover reference (NNN…),
  • model, engine and gearbox type,
  • the preparation variant stated in the product description.

If the numbers are unreadable, send us your VIN and we will check compatibility.

IMMO OFF and cloning

The Freelander TD4 ECU comes in IMMO OFF version – it does not need to be synchronised with the factory immobiliser. Cloning the data from your ECU is possible once we receive the original unit, provided its data can be read.

Symptoms of a faulty ECU

  • the engine does not start or cuts out,
  • no communication with the ECU during diagnostics,
  • limp mode and recurring faults although the sensors work.

These symptoms do not always mean a faulty ECU – check the power supply, earths and wiring before buying.

Other Land Rover parts

We also stock Land Rover ABS pumps and Land Rover hybrid modules and DC/DC converters.

Testing, warranty and delivery

Every ECU is checked before dispatch. Warranty terms are given in the product description. Details: delivery, payment methods, returns and complaints.

Can’t find your number?

Send us a photo of the whole label of your original ECU, your VIN and details of the engine and gearbox. We will check compatibility and the available preparation variant.

FAQ – Land Rover engine control units

Question Answer
Does ECU 0281010300 fit every Freelander TD4? No. Different ECU versions were used in this model – compare the Bosch, DDE and Land Rover numbers with the label of your ECU.
Why does a Land Rover ECU have a BMW number? The 2.0 TD4 engine in the first Freelander comes from BMW, so the ECU also has a DDE number in the BMW system.
Does an IMMO OFF ECU need programming? The IMMO OFF version does not need to be synchronised with the immobiliser. Preparation details are given in the product description.
Can I order cloning of my ECU? Yes, if the data can be read from your ECU. We need the original unit.
What if I cannot find my number? Send us a photo of the label and your VIN – we will check whether we can help.
