DCM3.5 engine controllers are widely used in Ford vehicles with the 2.0 TDCI engine, including models such as Mondeo, S-Max, Galaxy, Focus, Kuga, and Transit. They manage the complete operation of the power unit, and their failure prevents the vehicle from starting. Each unit is prepared for adaptation using FORScan, IDS, or another compatible diagnostic tool. After installation in the vehicle, a PATS adaptation procedure must be performed using two original keys. This process is identical to programming a brand-new ECU from the factory.
