ECU 09179499 5WK9182 – the later, corrected factory version from GM
This Siemens module is an original GM engine ECU in the version Opel fitted towards the end of production. Its redesigned housing replaces the first variant, which suffered from design faults. The unit has been cleaned and reset (Virgin), so it holds no data from any previous vehicle.

This list is not exhaustive: the label numbers decide, not the car model alone. Compare GM number 09179499 and Siemens number 5WK9182 with your original unit; a different ending means a different ECU. If your model is not mentioned here, that does not rule out compatibility. Email a photo of the label to sale@ecusale.com and we will confirm the match before you buy.
Adaptation in the car
After installation the ECU is paired with the car and its immobiliser using Tech-2 or OP-COM. The procedure needs the PIN code (Car Pass) of your own vehicle. On request we can also transfer the data from your old unit (cloning included in the price).
Questions about the GM 09179499 / Siemens 5WK9182 ECU
Will it fit where my old ECU with the other housing was?
Yes. The housing shape differs, yet it still mounts on the same 3 screws, so it goes straight into the factory position.
|
What is the benefit of the late-production version?
It is the later original GM version, introduced as the successor to the first variant. It is free from that variant’s design faults, so the repair lasts.
|
Will the engine start as soon as I plug it in?
No. The unit is reset and must first be adapted to the car and immobiliser (Tech-2 or OP-COM with the PIN code). Only then will the engine start.
