The unit is prepared in IMMO OFF mode – the immobilizer is disabled, so the ECU works immediately after connection, without coding keys or entering a PIN code.

Where was this ECU used?

The Bosch model 0281014250 / 39110-27355 was installed in KIA and Hyundai diesel vehicles with the 2.0 CRDi (D4EA) engine between 2004 and 2009. Commonly found in:

  • Faulty Engine Control Unit (ECU) Symptoms – Diagnosis and Repair Solutions

Symptoms of a Faulty Engine Control Unit – How to Recognize ECU Failure?

Engine control unit issues are often mistaken for other faults. No start, loss of communication with the ECU, limp mode or reduced engine power can all seem like ECU failure, but in many cases the real cause lies elsewhere – such as electrical wiring problems, injector faults or power supply issues.

The key is to determine whether the ECU is actually the source of the problem or just reacting to another issue. In this guide, we explain what to look for, the most common causes of ECU failure and when repair is a viable option versus replacing the unit. We also cover the differences between VIRGIN and IMMO OFF solutions and when each approach makes sense.
