BMW engine control unit 0281012091 7796637

We offer a tested Bosch EDC16C1 engine control unit with part numbers 0281012091 and BMW DDE 7796637.

The numbers on the label may also appear as 0 281 012 091, 7 796 637 or 13617796637. Before ordering, compare all part numbers with those shown on your original control unit.

Applications of the BMW DDE 7 796 637 control unit

  • BMW 530d E60 3.0 diesel,
  • BMW 530d E61 3.0 diesel,
  • selected BMW 525d E60 and E61 engine versions.

This module was used, among others, with BMW M57N engines. Compatibility must always be confirmed using the Bosch number 0281012091 and the DDE number 7796637, as the same vehicle model may be equipped with different ECU versions.

Possible symptoms of a faulty 0 281 012 091 ECU

  • no communication with the engine control unit,
  • the engine does not start or cuts out while driving,
  • no injector control,
  • fuel pressure control problems,
  • limp mode and reduced engine power,
  • intermittent sensor and actuator fault codes,
  • communication problems between the DDE, CAS and other vehicle modules.

Similar symptoms may also be caused by faulty wiring, power supply problems, defective sensors or faults within the fuel system. We recommend carrying out a complete vehicle diagnosis before replacing the ECU.

ECU programming

A used BMW DDE 7 796 637 control unit will not operate correctly after installation alone. It must be cloned from the original module or professionally programmed and matched to the vehicle.

If the data can still be read from the original ECU, we can provide a complete cloning service. Once cloned, the replacement module is prepared for installation in the vehicle.
