Bosch 0281019962 / BMW 8574751 in three steps
This module is a used BMW diesel engine control unit made by Bosch. It comes from another car and still holds that car’s data, so it will not work straight after plugging in. Below we explain how to check that it fits and how to bring it to life.
Step 1: compare the numbers
On the sticker of your current ECU, look for two markings: Bosch 0 281 019 962 and BMW DDE 8 574 751-01 (also written as 8574751 or DDE8574751). Both have to match. Watch out for the neighbouring number 0281019963 / 8574752 – it looks similar, but it is a separate ECU and cannot replace this unit.
Step 2: choose how to start it up
- Coding in the car – a workshop with BMW ISTA/P or ISTA 4 (ISTA+) diagnostics programs the ECU directly in your vehicle.
- Cloning by us, free of charge – you post the old module, we copy its data onto the new unit and send it back carrying your car’s data. This works when the memory of the old module is readable.
Step 3: order and delivery
The ECU is inspected before the parcel is dispatched. Within the European Union, the shipment arrives in 2–3 working days, and the warranty is 6 months. Unsure about the number? Write to us via the contact page and attach a picture of the sticker plus your VIN.
What else we can do
For an extra fee we switch off EGR, DPF, AdBlue and the swirl flaps (Flaps OFF); DPF and AdBlue only where the car has those systems. We also repair damaged BMW ECUs – read what happens to an ECU flooded with fuel and which faults affect N47 and B47 modules. Other DDE numbers are in the BMW engine ECU category.
Questions and answers: DDE 8574751 (Bosch 0281019962)
What does it mean that the ECU is locked?
Its memory still contains the data of the car it was removed from. To work with your BMW, it has to be coded with ISTA/P or ISTA+ or cloned.
|
Is cloning charged separately?
No, cloning is included in the price of 0281019962. All we need is your old ECU with readable data.
|
How can I be sure 8574751 fits my BMW?
Compare both figures on the sticker: Bosch and BMW. The model name alone is not enough. If in doubt, send a photo of the sticker and your VIN.
|
Do you disable EGR or DPF?
Yes, as a paid service: EGR, DPF, AdBlue and Flaps OFF. DPF and AdBlue only on cars that have these systems.
|
What warranty do I get?
This ECU comes with a 6-month warranty. Every unit is checked before shipping.
