Bosch Engine ECU 0281010458 / 074906018AM – VW T4 / LT 2.5 TDI – IMMO OFF version

We offer the original engine ECU Bosch 0281010458 (VW ref. 074906018AM) prepared in the IMMO OFF version. This means that the immobilizer has been permanently disabled, allowing the module to be installed without adaptation, PIN or coding in the vehicle.

This is a fully tested, fully functional ECU designed for Volkswagen T4 2.5 TDI and Volkswagen LT 2.5 TDI. The unit has passed communication, memory and bench testing — it is ready for immediate installation.

Where is the ECU 0281010458 / 074906018AM used?

The module is used in 2.5 TDI (R5) engines:

  • Volkswagen T4 2.5 TDI – approx. 1998–2003
  • Volkswagen LT 2.5 TDI – approx. 1997–2006

This is a popular control unit from the EDC15VM+ family, used in VW five-cylinder diesel engines.

Why choose the IMMO OFF version?

  • no PIN or immobilizer adaptation required,
  • ideal solution for faulty immo coils, clusters or transponders,
  • quick installation – swap the ECU and start the vehicle,
  • full compatibility with the 2.5 TDI engine.

  • Faulty Engine Control Unit (ECU) Symptoms – Diagnosis and Repair Solutions

Symptoms of a Faulty Engine Control Unit – How to Recognize ECU Failure?

Engine control unit issues are often mistaken for other faults. No start, loss of communication with the ECU, limp mode or reduced engine power can all seem like ECU failure, but in many cases the real cause lies elsewhere – such as electrical wiring problems, injector faults or power supply issues.

How to Check if Your ECU is Faulty and What to Do Next

The key is to determine whether the ECU is actually the source of the problem or just reacting to another issue. In this guide, we explain what to look for, the most common causes of ECU failure and when repair is a viable option versus replacing the unit. We also cover the differences between VIRGIN and IMMO OFF solutions and when each approach makes sense.
