Typical symptoms
Before you buy, confirm with a diagnosis that the ECU is at fault. Signs of a damaged ECU include:
- no start and no injector control,
- no communication with the ECU,
- no power despite good fuses,
- failure after water ingress or a short circuit.
Wiring, power supply and sensor faults give similar symptoms.
Virgin or IMMO OFF?
The Virgin version works with no faults: once connected it pairs itself with the immobiliser and vehicle, with no programming. IMMO OFF also starts the engine, but leaves an immobiliser fault and a red warning on the dashboard that disappears only after programming the immobiliser – that is why we recommend Virgin. Condition: matching numbers and a working immobiliser.

On the label of your old ECU find the Bosch number and the OEM number – both must match this unit:
