Lancia engine control units in stock
Lancia uses engines and electronics from the Fiat group, so the label shows the Fiat/Lancia part number (8 digits, e.g. 51806500 or 52045266) and the unit type marking – e.g. MJD 6F3.Y3, MJD 8F3.Y1, 9GF.TG or a Bosch 0281… number. The last characters of the type marking (Y1, Y2, Y3, Y5…) identify the exact version.

How to choose a Lancia engine control unit
Compare the Fiat/Lancia number and the full type marking with the label on your unit. The Ypsilon 1.3 Multijet used many MJD 6F3 versions – Y1, Y2, Y3, Y5, Y8 – which differ in software and are not interchangeable. The engine power alone is not enough either. The VIN helps confirm the vehicle version but does not replace the label numbers. If in doubt, send us a photo of the label.
VIRGIN Plug & Play
- VIRGIN Plug & Play – the immobiliser memory is cleared; after fitting, the unit pairs itself with the car’s immobiliser and key, with no data transfer from the old module.
According to the product descriptions, the Lancia units in stock are prepared as VIRGIN Plug & Play – after fitting they adapt to the immobiliser by themselves, provided the numbers match.
Example Lancia engine control units
Symptoms of a faulty engine control unit
- the engine does not start although the starter and fuel supply work,
- no communication with the engine control unit in diagnostics,
- limp mode, sudden stalling or injection faults with no faulty sensors,
- traces of moisture or corrosion on the connector or the housing.
Power supply, earths, fuses, relays, wiring and the immobiliser can cause similar symptoms – so run diagnostics before you buy. Control units for Fiat are in the Fiat engine control units category, and Lancia transmission control units in Lancia transmission control units.
Testing, warranty and delivery
Every control unit is checked before dispatch on a test bench – connected to power and diagnostic tools. The warranty period and terms are given in each product description. Before ordering you can check delivery times and costs, payment methods and our returns and complaints policy.
