Fitting without programming
Virgin Plug & Play means that once connected, the ECU adapts itself to the car and immobiliser. Two things are needed: the same part number (55260725) and a working immobiliser.
The IMMO OFF version is available on request, but it leaves a red immobiliser warning on the dashboard and a fault in diagnostics that cannot be removed without pairing with the immobiliser. Virgin has no such fault.
Typical symptoms of a faulty MJD 8F3.D4 ECU
A damaged ECU can stop the engine from starting because the injectors receive no signal. The tester then cannot connect to the unit, and a measurement may show no power at the ECU despite good fuses. The failure can follow water ingress or a short circuit in the wiring.
The same symptoms can, however, come from a fault in the harness, power supply or sensors, so run a diagnosis before buying.

What is the difference between IMMO OFF and Virgin?
With IMMO OFF the car runs, but a red immobiliser warning stays on the dashboard and a fault remains in diagnostics that cannot be cleared. The Virgin version does not have this fault, which is why we recommend it.
