Citroën gearbox control units in stock

We offer two families of control units. Older cars with the 5-speed SensoDrive gearbox (first-generation C2 and C3, C3 II 1.4 e-HDi, Nemo) use Siemens VDO / Continental units. Newer models with the 6-speed EGS6 gearbox (C4, C4 Picasso, C4 Grand Picasso, DS4, DS5) use Magneti Marelli units marked BC. Engine control units for these cars can be found in the Citroën engine control units category.

How to choose a Citroën gearbox control unit

  • SensoDrive (Siemens VDO / Continental) – control unit number S1xxxxxxxx with a letter at the end (e.g. S120215001D), software number SW96xxxxxx80, hardware number HW96xxxxxx80 and type SIM82 / SIM821 / SIM824,
  • EGS6 (Magneti Marelli) – PSA number 96xxxxxx80 and the BC.xxxxxxx code with a letter (e.g. BC.0091807.H).

The last letter matters: BC.0091807.D, .E, .G, .H and .I are different versions. The same PSA number can have two Marelli versions – as with 9678905780 (BC.0101511.E and BC.0101511.F) – so compare both codes.

Some Marelli units also fit Peugeot models (e.g. 3008, 5008, 508) – you will also find them in the Peugeot transmission control units category.

Does the control unit need programming?

Magneti Marelli BC units do not require programming: if the numbers on your unit's label are the same as on the one offered, it works once connected, without coding. For SensoDrive units, ask us about your specific number.

Symptoms of a SensoDrive or EGS6 gearbox fault

  • the gearbox stays in neutral (N) or will not engage a gear,
  • jerking when pulling away,
  • gearbox fault message and limp mode,
  • no communication with the control unit during diagnostics.

In these gearboxes, similar symptoms are very often caused by the clutch or gear-shift actuator rather than the control unit. Have the system diagnosed before you buy.

Frequently asked questions – Citroën Transmission Control Units (TCU)

Question Answer
How do I tell a SensoDrive unit from an EGS6 unit? A SensoDrive unit has a Siemens / Continental number starting with S1 and type SIM82, SIM821 or SIM824. An EGS6 unit has a PSA number 96xxxxxx80 and a Magneti Marelli BC code.
Does a BC control unit need programming? No. With the same numbers on the label, the unit works once connected, without coding.
Does the last letter of the number matter? Yes. For example, BC.0091807.D and BC.0091807.H are different versions – compare the whole number.
Will a Peugeot control unit fit a Citroën? Some Marelli units are used in both brands (e.g. 9674693580, 9666987680). The number on the label decides, not the car brand.
Is this a control unit for an automatic gearbox? These are control units for automated manual gearboxes: manual gearboxes whose clutch is operated by actuators.
Are the control units tested? Yes, every control unit is bench-tested before dispatch.
