Numbers to compare with your label
The housing of the original ECU carries a sticker with its numbers. On this unit they are:
- Ford number: BV61-12A650-AEE / BV6112A650AEE
- Delphi number: 28324815
- ECU type: Delphi DCM3.5
Typical symptoms of a faulty DCM3.5 ECU
A damaged ECU can stop the engine from starting because the injectors receive no signal. The tester then cannot connect to the unit, and a measurement may show no power at the ECU despite good fuses. The failure can follow water ingress or a short circuit in the wiring.
The same symptoms can, however, come from a fault in the harness, power supply or sensors, so run a diagnosis before you buy an ECU.
PATS programming and VIN preparation
- VIN preparation included: data from the Ford server and the latest software.
- You send us the VIN after purchase.
- PATS programming (keys + VIN) with FORScan or Ford IDS is required after fitting – the ECU is not plug & play.
- Warranty: 6 months.
Choose by number, not by model
Fords with the 2.0 TDCi engine used many versions of the DCM3.5 ECU, and one version could go into several models. That is why you should choose the ECU by its numbers only: Ford BV61-12A650-AEE and Delphi 28324815 must match your unit. If in doubt, send us a photo of the label before ordering.
