Preparing for fitting
Like any used ECU, 8518636 has to be matched to the car. The simplest way is cloning: you send us your old ECU and we transfer the immobiliser, ISN and VIN from it – included in the price. The other option is programming in the car.

This ECU is used in the BMW F10 / F11. Choose the ECU by the numbers on the label: BMW number 8518636 and Bosch number 0281018664 must match your unit.
Extra modifications
For an extra charge we carry out swirl flap removal (Flaps OFF) and EGR OFF. We do DPF OFF and AdBlue OFF only when the car has these systems – AdBlue is fitted to some models only.

Diesel in the ECU – the most common fault
- Cause: a leaking fuel pressure sensor – diesel travels through the wiring to the ECU connector and destroys the electronics.
- We repair ECUs contaminated with diesel, with no communication and those that cut out when the engine is warm.
- After repair, the ECU needs no programming.
- Replace the leaking sensor before refitting, or the fault will return.
