Which gearbox control units we offer
Our range mainly covers control units for automated manual gearboxes – conventional gearboxes with a clutch, where gear changes and the clutch are operated by electronically controlled actuators. It also includes ISM modules for the Mercedes-Benz 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox and the CAG system control unit used in Scania buses. Choose a brand subcategory:
- Citroën transmission control units – SensoDrive (C2, C3) and Magneti Marelli BC for the C4, C4 Picasso, DS4 and DS5,
- Peugeot transmission control units – 1007, 207, Bipper, 3008, 5008, 508 and Partner II,
- Fiat transmission control units – Magneti Marelli CFC for the 500, 500L, 500X, Panda, Punto, Idea and Ducato,
- Lancia transmission control units – Ypsilon and Musa with Selespeed and Dualogic,
- Mercedes-Benz transmission control units – ISM modules for the 7G-Tronic 722.9,
- Smart transmission control units – fortwo 451 (Mitsubishi Electric),
- Scania transmission control units – CAG-2 for 3-series buses.
How to choose a gearbox control unit
- Vehicle manufacturer's part number – e.g. PSA 96xxxxxx80, Fiat 5xxxxxxx, Mercedes-Benz A000270xx52,
- control unit manufacturer's number – e.g. Siemens S120215001D, Magneti Marelli BC.0101511.E or CFC328F.02, Mitsubishi G2T…, Continental / Siemens VDO A2C…,
- software and hardware numbers (SW / HW), if shown on the label,
- application code printed on some Magneti Marelli labels, e.g. NUOVA 500 1242-8V C514MTA.
The whole number counts, including the suffix – a different letter or different final digits mean a different version. The car model and year are only a guide. If you are unsure, send a photo of the label and your VIN via the contact form.
Control unit families and what is needed after fitting
| Control units |
Gearbox / system |
After fitting |
| Magneti Marelli BC.xxx (Citroën, Peugeot) and CFC410P (Partner) | 6-speed EGS6 / ETG6, MCP | No programming required if the label numbers are identical. |
| Magneti Marelli CFC (Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo) | Selespeed, Dualogic, MTA, C635 DDCT | The module does not require programming. |
| Mercedes-Benz ISM module – numbers up to 2013 | 7G-Tronic 722.9 | VIRGIN version: selector positioner calibration, then ISM adaptation; or cloning included in the price. |
| Mercedes-Benz ISM module – numbers after 2013 | 7G-Tronic 722.9 | Full programming or cloning (cloning included in the price). |
For Siemens VDO / Continental SIM82, SIM821 and SIM824, Smart fortwo 451 and Scania CAG control units we do not give general rules – ask us about your specific number.
Automated manual, automatic and ISM module – what is the difference
SensoDrive, 2-Tronic, Selespeed, Dualogic, MTA, EGS6 / ETG6 and MCP are automated manual gearboxes: mechanically they are manual gearboxes with a clutch, and the TCU controls the clutch and gear-shift actuators. The C635 DDCT gearbox in the Fiat 500X has two clutches. The ISM module in the Mercedes-Benz 7G-Tronic is not the control unit for the whole gearbox – it electrically shifts the gearbox into P, R, N and D, while a separate VGS control unit manages the transmission itself. So always check which module you are actually replacing.
Examples of control units in stock
Before ordering, compare the numbers with the label on your control unit – the same car model does not guarantee the same number.
Symptoms that may point to the gearbox control unit
- gearbox warning light or fault message,
- the gearbox will not engage a gear or stays in neutral (N),
- jerking when pulling away or changing gear,
- the gearbox going into limp mode,
- no communication with the control unit during diagnostics.
The same symptoms are often caused by the clutch and gear-shift actuators, sensors, wiring or low battery voltage. It is worth having the gearbox diagnosed before you buy.
Testing, warranty and delivery
Every gearbox control unit is bench-tested before dispatch. We sell it with a 6-month warranty. Details: returns and complaints, delivery times and costs, payment methods.
Can't find your number?
Send us a photo of the entire label on your original gearbox control unit, your VIN and details of the engine and gearbox. We will check compatibility and availability.

Frequently asked questions – Transmission Control Units (TCU)
| Question |
Answer |
| Does the gearbox control unit need programming? |
It depends on the family. Magneti Marelli BC.xxx units for Citroën and Peugeot and CFC units for Fiat and Lancia do not require programming. Mercedes-Benz ISM modules require programming or cloning (cloning included in the price). |
| How do I choose a gearbox control unit? |
By the full number on the label: the vehicle manufacturer's number, the control unit manufacturer's number and, if present, the SW / HW numbers. The car model and year are only a guide. |
| Are these control units for automatic gearboxes? |
Most of them are for automated manual gearboxes (SensoDrive, Selespeed, Dualogic, MTA, EGS6 / ETG6, MCP). ISM modules work in the Mercedes-Benz 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. |
| What is the difference between an ISM module and a gearbox control unit? |
The ISM shifts the 7G-Tronic gearbox into P, R, N and D. The transmission itself is controlled by a separate VGS control unit. |
| Are the control units checked before dispatch? |
Yes, every gearbox control unit is bench-tested before dispatch. |
| I can't see my number – what should I do? |
Send us a photo of the entire label and your VIN. We will check whether we have a matching control unit. |
