Vehicle compatibility
This unit fits an Audi Q7 4L 3.0 TDI that left the factory with ECU 0281013690 / 4L0910401L. Before ordering, compare both numbers with the sticker on the housing – your model missing from the list rules nothing out, but a different number, e.g. 0281013689, means different software. EDC17 units from later Q7s (e.g. 0281015868) are a separate group.
Preparation and installation
On the EDC16CP34, disabling the immobiliser has no side effects – there is no message on the instrument cluster and no stored fault, and the engine starts straight after installation. You can also choose data cloning from your old ECU (included in the price) and paid services: DPF OFF, EGR OFF, FLAPS OFF and chip tuning.
Symptoms of a failed ECU in the Q7
In the Q7 3.0 TDI the ECU sits under the scuttle panel; when the drains block, water collects there. The most common symptoms:
- no communication with the ECU during diagnostics
- the engine stalls when warm or after contact with moisture
- corrosion on the pins or the circuit board
